Platformer

Run, jump, stomp, repeat. Retro hero energy.

A side-scrolling run-and-jump adventure. Your person collects coins, stomps themed baddies, grabs a power-up or two and faces an end boss, who can be another member of the cast. Levels are built from hand-made chunks, so they are always beatable.

How to play

Left and right to run, jump to jump (shock). On phones you get a big friendly on-screen pad.

Controls

Arrow keys + jump, or on-screen pad

Win level

50 coins by default (you can pick 10–300)

What’s in it

  • Always-beatable levels
  • A cast member as the final boss
  • Power-ups and secret coins
  • Big touch controls on mobile

Best for: Proper gamers, nostalgic dads and anyone who grew up blowing into cartridges.

  • “Dad stomped on balloons. The balloons have filed a complaint.”
  • “Collected 49 of 50 coins. Classic Nan.”
  • “The final boss is someone you know very well. Good luck.”

Questions people ask

Is the platformer game free to make?

Yes. You can build and play a platformer game for free with our demo characters. A plan (from £3.49 a month) turns your own photos into characters and keeps the game live.

Does it work on phones?

Yes. It plays in any modern browser on phones, tablets and computers. Controls: arrow keys + jump, or on-screen pad. It can be added to the home screen and works offline once opened.

How hard is it to win?

You choose. The win level is 50 coins by default (you can pick 10–300). Reaching it unlocks the ending and your message.

Can I reuse my characters in another game style?

Yes. Every character is drawn once, in a standing pose and an action pose facing both ways, and every game style brings those same drawings to life. You can make as many games as you like with the same cast at no extra cost.
