Make a game
Pets welcome

Put your pet in a video game

We don’t only draw people. Upload a photo of your dog, cat or whoever else runs your household, and we turn them into a cartoon character who can star in a game: as the hero, the sidekick or the one waiting at the end.

Free to make. No download. Plays on any device.

Sunglasses optional. We draw what’s in your photo.

How it works

From camera roll to main character

The same four steps as for people. The pet usually ends up the star anyway.

  1. Upload a photo

One with your pet in it. People are welcome too, but a photo of just the dog is fine. We find everyone in it and you tick who you want.

  2. We draw your pet

A cartoon version in a standing pose and an action pose, facing both ways. Name them whatever you call them at home.

  3. Give them a job

The hero you play as, the one waiting at the finish line, or one of the gang. Then pick a game, an occasion and your message.

  4. Send the link

It plays in the browser on any device, with no download. Watch the family group chat go quiet.

In the game

What your pet gets up to

One link plays all ten game styles, and your pet is in every one of them: running, flapping, climbing, racing a kart or sitting in an escape room looking unhelpful.

Reasons to do this (as if you needed one)

A birthday game from the dog

Sign it “love, Biscuit”. It beats a card with a paw print on it, and nobody has to hold an ink pad near the carpet.

The whole family, pets included

Mum, Dad, both kids and the cat who runs the house. Everyone gets a character and anyone can be the one you play.

For someone who misses them

Away at uni, working abroad or just moved out: a game where the family dog comes bounding towards them does a lot of heavy lifting.

For the person whose pet is their whole personality

You know the one. Their phone is 4,000 photos of the same spaniel. This is the gift.

Christmas, Halloween and the rest

Every occasion works with pets. Tick “Change with the seasons” and the same game dresses up as the year goes round.

A leaderboard to fight over

Each game style keeps its own scores, so the family can argue about who is best at being the cat.

Getting a good photo of an animal

The clearer we can see them, the more the cartoon looks like them. Three things help most:

  • The whole pet in shot. Head to tail (or head to shell). A face poking round a door gives us half a dog to work with.
  • Good light. Daylight near a window or outside. Black dogs in dark rooms are a known problem for cameras and cartoonists alike.
  • Looking roughly your way. A treat held just above the lens works on most species. It has never once worked on a cat.

One photo can hold several pets and people, and your cast doesn’t have to come from one photo: Grandma can come from her birthday picture and the dog from another. There’s more in our photo tips guide.

What it costs

Making, editing and publishing games is free, so you can try every game style with our demo characters first. A pet counts as one character, exactly like a person. Plans that turn your own photos into characters start at £3.49 a month. See pricing.

Pet questions

Can my pet be the main character?

Yes. Any character can be the one you play as, and that includes pets. They can also be the one you’re trying to reach, or simply part of the cast. Whoever gets the game can pick who to play on the start screen.

Which animals can you draw?

Dogs and cats are the usual stars, but it isn’t limited to them. If the animal is clear in the photo, we’ll draw it: rabbits, parrots, tortoises, the lot. If a drawing genuinely goes wrong, we’ll re-do it or refund you.

Does a pet cost more than a person?

No. A pet is one character, the same as a person. Making, editing and publishing games is free; turning your own photos into characters starts at £3.49 a month, which includes two characters in the first month.

Can I use a photo with only my pet in it?

Yes. A photo of just your pet works. If there are people in the photo too, we find them as well and you choose who becomes a character. Everyone in the photo needs to have agreed (the dog is excused).

What makes a good pet photo?

Good light, the whole animal in shot, and looking roughly towards the camera. A bit of ham held just above the lens is a time-honoured technique. Blurry action shots are funny but hard to draw from.

Are pets the same size as people in the game?

No. Pets are drawn smaller than the people next to them, as they are in real life. When you play as your pet in an action game they are a little bigger, so they’re easy to see and control.

Can I add my pet to a game I’ve already made?

Yes. Once your pet is a character you can add them to any of your games, old or new. Editing a game is free and the link stays the same.

What happens to the photo?

It’s checked by automated moderation, used to draw the cartoon, and then deleted. We keep the cartoon, not the photo.

Ready to make them famous?

Build the game free with demo characters, then swap in your pet when you’re happy with it.
