Partner programme terms
Last updated: 9 October 2026
The become.games partner programme is invite-only. We invite creators, writers and communities we think would genuinely enjoy telling people about become.games. These terms are the agreement between you (the partner) and Polarize Ltd, trading as become.games. You accept them when you join from your invitation.
Don’t have an invitation? You can ask to join.
The short version
- You get your own link (become.games/r/yourname). You can change the name; old links keep working.
- People who create a new become.games account within 30 days of clicking your link get 10% off every payment for 12 months from their first payment.
- You earn 10% of the net of every payment those customers make, for as long as they keep paying.
- Commission is held for 30 days, then paid to you through Stripe once you have at least £10 ready.
- Mark your posts as ads. No spam, no misleading claims, no paid search ads on our name.
- Either of us can stop at any time. What you’ve earned up to then is still paid.
1. Joining
You join by following the personal link in your invitation, signing in with a become.games account and agreeing to these terms. Your invitation is personal and lasts 30 days. You must be at least 18 and able to enter a contract. One partner account per person or business.
2. Who counts as your referral
- A referral is a person who clicks your link and then creates a new become.games account within 30 days, in the same browser. We remember the click with a small cookie (
bg_ref, see our cookie policy). - If they click several partners’ links, the last link they clicked before signing up counts.
- Existing customers, people who already had an account, and your own accounts don’t count.
- If someone blocks cookies or signs up on a different device, we may not be able to see that they came from you. We can’t add referrals by hand.
3. The discount for your referrals
Referred customers get 10% off the price of plans and credit packs for 12 months from their first payment, including plan renewals in that time. It is applied automatically at checkout and can’t be combined with other promotion codes.
4. Your commission
- For every payment a referred customer makes, for as long as they keep paying, you earn 10% of the net of that payment.
- Net means the amount the customer actually paid (after their discount), minus Stripe’s fee for that payment, minus our AI drawing cost for the character credits in it (we use a fixed average cost per credit, currently 3p, which we may update to reflect our real costs; any change applies to payments after it).
- Example: a monthly plan with 6 credits at £3.14 (after 10% off) has a Stripe fee of about 25p and a drawing cost of 18p, so the net is £2.71 and you earn 27p. Each renewal earns you commission again.
- You can see every payment, its net and your share on your Partner page. Customers are shown anonymously.
5. Refunds, chargebacks and holds
Each commission is held for 30 days so refunds and chargebacks can come through. If a payment is refunded in full during the hold, its commission is cancelled; a partial refund reduces it in proportion. After the hold the commission becomes available to pay. We won’t take back commission that has already been paid to you, unless it was earned through fraud or a breach of these terms.
6. Getting paid
- We pay through Stripe Connect. You set up a Stripe account from your Partner page (Stripe asks for identity and bank details; we never see your bank details). Stripe’s own terms apply to that account.
- We pay available commission in pounds sterling, usually once a month, once you have at least £10 ready. Stripe then pays it into your bank.
- You are responsible for your own tax and National Insurance on what you earn. If you are VAT registered, the amounts are inclusive of any VAT you have to account for; tell us and we’ll work with you on invoices.
- If you never set up payouts, or the programme ends, we will pay any commission of £10 or more that you’ve earned once you set up payouts within 12 months. Smaller unpaid amounts lapse after 12 months.
7. How to promote us
- Always make it clear it’s an ad. Use “#ad” or “Ad” clearly at the start of posts and videos that include your link, as the ASA and CMA require.
- Be honest. Don’t make claims we don’t make (for example that games are free to make with your own photo, or that something is permanent when it isn’t). If you’re not sure, ask us.
- No spam: no unsolicited emails or messages, no posting your link where it isn’t welcome, no fake reviews.
- No paid search ads that bid on “become.games” or similar terms, and no websites, accounts or apps that look like ours or use our name in their address.
- No incentives we haven’t agreed, such as offering cashback, and no clicking your own link or signing up yourself.
- Don’t target children, and don’t promote us alongside content that breaks our acceptable use policy.
- You may use our name and logo only to promote become.games, and only as we provide them.
8. Stopping
You can leave at any time by emailing us. We can pause or end your partnership at any time with notice by email, and straight away if you break these terms, act fraudulently or damage our reputation. When a partnership ends, your link stops giving new people the discount, and new commission stops. Commission you earned before then is still paid as above (unless it was earned in breach of these terms). Customers you referred keep any discount they already have.
9. Your data
We keep your name, contact details, the notes we make about our partnership, your link history, and the numbers of clicks, sign-ups, payments and commission linked to you, to run the programme and pay you. Stripe holds your identity and bank details. We keep payment records for 6 years for UK accounting rules. See our privacy policy for your rights.
10. Changes and the legal bits
- We may change these terms or the commission rate. We’ll email you at least 30 days before a change that reduces what you earn; it applies only to payments after the change. If you don’t want the change, you can leave.
- You’re an independent partner, not our employee or agent, and you can’t make promises on our behalf.
- Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law. Otherwise our total liability to you is limited to the commission paid or payable to you in the 12 months before the claim.
- These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
